And another with another label right ive been intrigued for a while now at the whole notion of, of a legitimate third party thought about that a lot, pardon me really would like to see that so do you think she made a mistake to rule out an independent run well, thats her choice and i think shes decided that her teachers in the republican party, but listen to those Haley Supporters and a lot of others, you know, the polling is showing the American People 65, 70 . One another choice other than trump and biden weve been talking to some really exceptional candidates who can offer that choice. So well lets see what, the delegates friday. But i think this is a unique moment in history where the American People are so fed up with the two parties and the two logic of probable candidates that theyre going to welcome a bipartisan unity. Third choice on the ballot. And were only going to do it if we think we can so wind. And right now are pulling those us, we can and that 800 delegates are we going to see that process play out or is that going to be Behind Closed Doors . Well, its a virtual process. What do you make of the president s comments . Here you see things a little differently. Well, yeah, you know, i dont think their offensive im not going to punch anyone in the face, but that doesnt mean theyre right either. So if you actually if you look at it Donald Trumps been gaining steam amongst black voters since prior to 2020, he was the polls from 2022 before the first indictment actually showed him picking up a lot of steam to whatever the trend is is probably not the indictments. Its probably a dissatisfaction with democrats in general. You also look at him polling against other republicans, but he needs also pulling, likely though, right . So he named the name them. Thats so i dont think hes right about that. Right. I dont think the indictment is what is drawing black voters towards him. What do you clearly Something Else . What do you think it is . Well, i think frankly could just be that first of all, this trend is a lot of younger black voters. Basically its black men under 30 that are moved moving towards the republican party, black men, basically my age, and it could just be a general dissatisfaction with the message that the Democratic Party is telling black people were telling theyre telling black people essentially, nothing is your fault. Its all systemic racism. And thats actually not appealing to a lot of younger men. Younger men were prefer to be told, your life is in your own control and you you can make your own destiny. Why dont you think its offensive . I think thats interesting. You said i dont think its offensive i think its like incorrect. It was wrong, but it doesnt offend me as an idea. The idea in theory thats people would rally behind trump because hes being unfairly person secured and that resonates with black peoples feeling of being unfairly prosecuted as not offensive to me in theory, i just dont think its the actual reason why people are going towards it has nothing to do with that. I was offended i appreciate your point. I was i was offended amazed the generational thing i agree with what youre saying that he does kind of had this kind of outlaw image thats going on now and that might be somewhat appealing. But i think in his mind, he associates black people were criminality. So i think in his mind, when he did with the central park and that sort of stuff. So to me, its a tell just with the same way that he said the new new republican contender for where the governorships is dr. King times ten. Thats gotten us all right. Scott. All but hes black. And so that you can see in his mind crime, dr. King crime dutch king. So i was offended by that, but i think you put your finger on something very important. I do think that trump seems strong right now. Youll got people jumped on 957 lawsuits. All these felonies and stuff. If i had one thought on the ib home crying or youd be in jail. Oh, true jail. Crime but that only seems to boost his popularity. And i just do think there right now people are hurting and uncertain there. You go into grocery store, you spent 300 and the food runs out by wednesday that doesnt feel good the worlds tenth be on fire. And heres this guy whos just strong now. Hes strong and wrong, but he does seem strong. And i think that that does have some appeal. And i think that we got to deal with that. I also do this, but hes also very fluid with the truth and that doesnt matter to people in there. You are well raised sister. She they flew with the troops. You lie i think you know what i mean . That doesnt bother you, coleman. Oh, hes lying definitely bothers me. I didnt vote for him and i wouldnt vote for him. But for a lot of voters, i agree, view him as strong and theres actually been some polls of republicans that like him. And a lot of them agree with all of them the same criticisms that you just said, they know hes a liar, but they liked that is strong. And especially when you put them up against joe biden, who with each passing day just looks worse and worse and more and more feeble having that next to a person that is relatively strong because guys, i dont necessarily think its about age. I think its about a persons energy and a persons vitality. Its not the number. Yeah. Yeah. I dont necessarily think its the number thats right. I think its about how they carry them. Thats exactly right bloomberg is i think in his 80s, he has sharp as attack. Yeah. Andrew, so i do think that the way that biden carries himself, his stutter, which i worked for him in the obama white house. He always had that started, but it does seem a lot worse and. So i do think that hurts. And then also on policy and were offerings here. We can talk. There were things that black voters wanted and expect and hope for in 2020 Police Reform the george floyd policing act, but it didnt pass Voting Rights. The john lewis Voting Rights bill that didnt pass more progress on criminal justice. The equal act that didnt pass. And so it wasnt capacity emotionality in this and the other you just kinda look to charles point. What did we get for our vote . Look, we the academy is better than it couldve been. I love alaska. He did. But if you just look at that particular set of issues, you could be disappointed on the other hand, because he go back to seven, you said the reason i obviously, im only speaking for myself. The reason i think the Democratic Party, mr. Biden, President Biden is losing black boses they only care about black people every four years. They come at our neighborhoods and say, were going to make stuff better. Were going to do this, do this, do this. And then finally, us black people like hillman, other not ability to dunk a basketball all my neighbors hoods are still the same. Our schools are still the same and thats why i think black people are leaving disappointed that Democratic Party because i know law, ill go to democratic every time just because i thought thought it was going to help black people and poor people, black people, poor white people there in the same boat like i didnt care who the president was. Im not going to lie, but i voted early voted republican onetime of my life now for john kasich and i dont even know he couldnt win. But then im starting to look like, man, i understand why black people leaving one of vote for somebody thats because every four years they come into our neighborhoods and man, we dont make things better for you. I think i think i think thats true. Now, lets let you go. I do want to point out though that poor black folks been blown for democrats for two generations, not as much progress as you want. Poor white balls been voted for republicans in appalachia and other places for three generations of four. And not that much progress. So theres a poor people problem with both parties, but i think what you highlighted might be a reason why some black voters state a home. But if were asking why are certain black voters switching from democrat to republican . I dont think theyre switching to trump or to other republicans because they think those republicans are going to actually make change. I think those voters are switching for other reasons just because they actually dont like the message that democrats percentage thing to them as black people, and especially as young black people. Because again, this trend is not happening throughout black america. Its confined basically two black men under 30. Okay. I havent youre concerned about it, you call men do when hes 28, 20 and were proud of you, by the way, his brother for 28 yearold, i mean, you make us proud. Thank you, van. I think youre onto something and at the same time, i question this this is also the generation thats mostly on social media and often is only getting their news now through tiktok and instagram and im concerned that there are some concerted efforts, maybe even not from United States efforts. To push this distress and this depression. And i dont think its just democrats run a Victim Narrative. I think youre saying democrats when im victor meredith, people dont like that thats never been that appealing. But i think theres something happening on social media where im seeing over and over again messages basically saying dont vote, saying why should we vote acting as if nothing has been achieved . I would say at least this. Maybe you cant get what you want by voting, but you can share lose what youve got by not at least need to vote defensively. And that seems to be being pushed back on. So i think some of that might be not like in the message, but somebody might be some actual online influence operations are you concerned at all that did some stuff is artificial . Thats certainly could be happening. I mean, i know that for a fact when they looked into the years between say, 2,014. 20, 20, they saw that there were actual facebook pages created by russia, but those pages, while they were playing both sides of the equation that they were Inflaming Trump supporters, but they were also planning blm rallies, right . They were flaming inflaming both sides to try to destroy the country. But that is the russian propaganda and a model where you create polarization and then you get people so frustrated that people just kind of give up and go to the couch. And so im just saying there is something happening with black men some of it is the pain of going all these funerals and seeing young men after young man put it in the ground and nothing happened. Some of it is this Victim Narrative that is coming forward that just says is almost like its disempowering. If youre black, you just you cant do anything. Its just its racism that we have nothing you could do. I think that is a turnoff, but theres something happening on social media that we need to look at because ive never seen this much just from a group of people who usually are the spark plugs for hoping our community. I will argue though, that du, blame it on social media. I dont know. Im just saying i want i want to have a real conversation because i dont feel like all why is it happening . Yeah, almost all almost all of the major trends of the past ten years trace in some way to social media talking about skyrocketing Depression Rates among youth. All of this stuff is caused by social media. But from the data ive seen, the people that use social media the most are very liberal young people. Theyre the highest most active users so is it that there im not sure theyre the ones that are being pushed to the right per say. But certainly theres a major trend going on with social media. Its affecting every aspect of our lives. If youre in a unique position because you worked with the Trump Administration on some significant criminal Justice Reform . Yes. Do you think that that is that also adds to his appeal i think that it do you think he was sincere about that or do you think that that was just an all you asked me why trump did something and i know they dont pay me enough year. I dont mean to be open that up to his appeal though. I think there are some people that they will say these things about donald trump theyll say number one, he did do something on criminal justice and i think that thats fair. But by the way, was a bipartisan bill and so did you know we had a lot of people involved in that, but i think thats fair. You signed a bill. You i was going to say he seems to be proud of that. However, hes not talking about it. Hes not running on it are you actually running away from it . So thats not so good. The other thing and theyll say besides the criminal justice piece is the stimulus tax that we got during the pandemic. We got Stimulus Checks. And i always point out, but why did you need to stamp the Stimulus Checks . Because he so mishandled the pandemic that the whole country had to be shut down. And so thats why you got the Stimulus Checks. So there are some things that you can point you, but heres Something Else. Nostalgia cells. When you dont have hope, you dont have hope about tomorrow then you say, make America Great. Again, that cells, when you say make America Great again, the way it was just 56 years ago when you dont have hope for tomorrow. Nostalgia cells.
