Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said the man's wife and primary-school-aged child have been referred to the Homicide Victim's Support Group. He said the alleged offender was released on bail to reside in an address in Brisbane's southside. "He has a tracking bracelet on him, just to restrict him from coming to the Coast," Snr-Sgt Edwards said. Snr-Sgt Edwards said police allege the pair were not associated and the only link was the Maroochydore Hotel near where the incident took place. A 31-year-old man was charged with grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils. He was next due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 19, with charges that may be upgraded to unlawful striking causing death.
