Colombian army kills 14 rebels in combat Sun Online Desk 18th April, 2021 10:24:51 Some 14 rebels and one Colombian soldier have been killed in combat between guerrillas and the Andean country's military, army sources say. Fourteen members of the Carlos Patino front - founded by former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels who reject a 2016 peace deal - were killed on Saturday in the confrontations in Argelia, Cauca province, two military sources told Reuters. The rebels removed the bodies of their fighters, General Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro, the head of the army, said on Twitter. Zapatiero mentioned just 10 rebel deaths. In addition to the soldier who was killed, seven others were injured, Zapatiero said, after the unit was "attacked indiscriminately with explosive artefacts".
