Comedy in Columbia is ripe for a comeback, and that's no joke

As we continue getting back in the swing of how things used to be, there's one area of local entertainment that's been missing even before COVID-19 came along ― standup comedy.
There was a time when Columbia dabbled in the world of standup, and if my memory serves me well, it was a sellout night each time. It was also a lot of fun, even if not every joke happened to land.
Bombing is just a part of it, and anyone who's been onstage with a mic knows that awkward feeling of delivering a joke to stunned silence. That's just part of the game, the craft and often used as a learning experience to get up and try again, but better.
