Comedy in Columbia is ripe for a comeback, and that's no joke The Daily Herald As we continue getting back in the swing of how things used to be, there's one area of local entertainment that's been missing even before COVID-19 came along ― standup comedy. There was a time when Columbia dabbled in the world of standup, and if my memory serves me well, it was a sellout night each time. It was also a lot of fun, even if not every joke happened to land. Bombing is just a part of it, and anyone who's been onstage with a mic knows that awkward feeling of delivering a joke to stunned silence. That's just part of the game, the craft and often used as a learning experience to get up and try again, but better.
