Council chairman councillor David Brenton is hoping by coming together to celebrate the day ‘we send out a message of hope and solidarity and a knowledge that working collectively we can achieve a brighter future’. Last year’s Commonwealth Day fell in the pre-covid period and just a week or so before the country went into the first phase of Lockdown to control the spread of a little-known virus, Covid-19.
