Community members in Monument concerned about possible development Erin Chapman and last updated 2021-08-03 11:45:52-04 MONUMENT â A planned public hearing for the Conexus Commercial Metropolitan District between Old Denver Highway and Interstate 25 in Monument was put on hold Monday night as more than 250 people showed up to voice their opinion on the development. The number of community members exceeded capacity limits at Town Hall. The Board of Trustees has now pushed the meeting two weeks to August 16. Neighbors tell News 5 they were notified in writing from the town that six warehouse buildings are planned by Becknell Industrial for the area. Locals say the plan has changed since September of last year when they were told the land would be used as multi-use property.
