THE companies that were operating a London construction site when a crane collapsed onto houses which killed a person should take responsibility for housing the family made homeless in the accident, campaigners said today. The crane was working on a construction site in Bow when it toppled onto houses in July last year. Eighty-five-year-old June Harvey was killed in the collapse while her niece Jacqueline Atkinson and her son, Sam Atkinson, were made homeless. They have since been housed in a hotel, paid for by Tower Hamlets Council, which has been hit by Tory government cuts, and now face eviction on Monday.
