Concerns refugees will be denied ‘a fair go’ through snap interviews11/05/2021|6min There are concerns refugees seeking asylum in Australia will not be prepared to make their cases during a snap round of interviews which are set to be completed by June 30. More than 1,000 people seeking protection from the Commonwealth have two weeks to explain why they fled their home country and what they fear about returning. Refugee Legal Executive Director David Manne said, “it’s pretty extraordinary because these are people that came over to Australia eight years ago seeking protection from persecution and have been left in legal limbo for all that times really.”
