Works to fix Tewantin's busiest intersection are expected to begin in late 2021 as part of a $9.8m bypass upgrade. The intersection upgrade of Cooroy-Noosa Road and Beckmans Road will include a new two-lane roundabout to improve traffic flow, particularly during peak periods. Noosa Council is delivering the project with the Department of Transport and Main Roads as part of the $400 million road stimulus package funded by the Queensland Government to supercharge the State's economy through the COVID-19 recovery. Earlier this month, Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart said the design work had identified the alignment of the junction between the two roads, allowing vegetation clearing and relocation of energy and water infrastructure to start.
