Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations continue dropping in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 3,345 new positive cases of COVID-19 Thursday, raising the statewide total to 905,995. The department reported 2,124 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals.
The numbers reflect a substantial drop from earlier this winter. Several weeks ago, new infections were topping 10,000 on a daily basis and more than 6,300 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized at one point.
The health department reported 94 new deaths Thursday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 23,413 deaths have been tied to COVID-19.
The state has administered more than 1.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines, according to health department data. The state said 1,365,523 people have been given their first dose of the vaccines, while 467,115 have been given both doses and are fully vaccinated. State figures don’t include the city of Philadelphia, which is handling its own vaccine distribution.
