Coronavirus in Ohio: One-stop vaccine website not yet ready
A new statewide online portal where Ohioans can search for COVID-19 vaccine appointments isn't yet ready to launch.
Gov. Mike DeWine had set Valentine's Day as the target date for the new website. A DeWine spokesman said that the software met the "internal deadline" of Sunday.
Next, the Ohio Department of Health will ask pharmacies, hospitals and local health departments to sign up to be included in the site. After a number have signed up – how many wasn't known Sunday – then the portal will open to the public.
"We’re going to be engaged in vigorous outreach to get this site populated as quickly as possible," DeWine spokesman Dan Tierney said.
