General practitioners will be able to offer patients the Pfizer vaccine from today in the latest boost to Australia's COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

A further 800 GPs are expected join the next phase of the rollout later this month and into August.

Despite the step forward in the rollout, GPs have expressed concern over the supply of the Pfizer vaccine.
"There is a lot of concern about the Pfizer vaccine but it has been made clear that this month there should be 2.8 million doses available," Infectious disease expert Professor Sanjaya Senanayake told Today.
