Cheboygan Daily Tribune On May 25, the Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners voted four votes to three not to extend the local state of emergency, which expires at the end of May. A resolution was presented to the county commissioners, as it has been over the last several months, to approve and extend the declaration of a local state of emergency in Cheboygan County, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. "Here again, the sole purpose of that is just so other municipalities within our jurisdiction here in Cheboygan County can have virtual meetings," said Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners Chair John Wallace.
