County OKs use of ARP funds for Project Roomkey Shares Yolo County supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to allocate funding from the American Rescue Plan to extend a pandemic-era program for housing the homeless. Since its inception in March 2020, Project Roomkey has provided more than 75,000 nights of shelter in leased motel rooms to 787 county residents, 75 of whom have ended up permanently housed. Funding for the program runs out this week, but Tuesday’s vote by county supervisors to allocate $173,722 in ARP funds will keep it going at least through the end of July. The cities of Davis and West Sacramento are sharing the cost of the extension, with Davis contributing $105,797 and West Sacramento $67,925.
