Muscat: Oman yesterday received its first batch of Astra Zeneca coronavirus vaccine ordered through International Vaccine Federation. The news of the batch of vaccine that arrived at Muscat International Airport yesterday evening was met with cheer from residents and citizens who have been waiting for their shots for some time now. Though the number of vaccines in this consignment is not mentioned, it is hoped that it will help meet the current urgent requirement to an extent. As of last Thursday, the number of people vaccinated in Oman stood at 139522. It is reported that the Sultanate has agreed with the International Vaccine Federation to obtain one million doses of vaccine.
