(HOI) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health on Wednesday is reporting more than 9 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered throughout Illinois. State public health officials are reporting a total of 9,048,300 vaccines have been administered statewide, with 106,173 jabs given yesterday. The IDPH is also reporting an additional 2,728 new cases of the virus and 33 deaths, bringing the state's total caseload to 1,328,454 and the death toll to 21,891. The state's rolling positivity rate is being reported at 4.1% and Region 2, which includes the Peoria and Bloomington-Normal areas, is seeing its rate fall to 5.2%. As of Tuesday night, 2,154 individuals in Illinois were reportedly hospitalized with COVID-19, with 502 of those being in the ICU and 238 were on ventilators.
