Written by Putnam County Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell praised the county health department for establishing COVID-19 vaccine distribution sites, and called for the public’s patience as we await more vaccine supply. The Putnam County Department of Health administered 307 vaccines to seniors 75 and older and essential workers on Thursday at the Philipstown Recreation Center. That follows two successful vaccine points of dispensing, or PODS, at the Carmel Friendship Center, which vaccinated 611 people. “Thursday’s venue was ideal, it means the health department now has a location in Philipstown and another in Carmel to administer the vaccine,” said County Executive Odell. “I even heard seniors remark how nice it was to see friends who they hadn’t seen since the Office of Senior Resources programs were paused early last year.”
