View Comments There may be a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for students come the fall semester at the University of Nevada, Reno and Truckee Meadows Community College. The Nevada System of Higher Education, the governing body over the state's public colleges including UNR and TMCC, is currently drafting plans to require a COVID-19 vaccine to attend school. The vaccine mandate would be contingent on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration lifting the emergency use designation for the vaccines. Drug companies such as Pfizer are expected to ask the FDA as soon as this month for full approval of the COVID-19 vaccine, which could open up the ability of schools and employers to mandate the vaccine.
