COVID-19: Yobe records 15 new cases, total now 436 Published The Yobe State Ministry of Health and Human Services has revealed that 15 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 436. This was contained in a Situational Report released by the ministry covering 1st January, 2020, to 9th May, 2021. Within this period, the report indicated that a total number of 16,625 samples were collected out of which 10,939 turned out negative; 436 samples were confirmed to be positive while 5,208 samples are pending in the laboratory, with 42 samples awaiting retesting. The report’s epidemiological summary noted that of the 436 confirmed COVID-19 in the state, 93 cases were reported from Damaturu; 73 from Nguru; 41 from Fika; and 38 from Potiskum.
