Security personnel on guard at Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday BHUBANESWAR: Amid rising Covid-19 cases, the state’s Pana Sankranti and Maha Bishuba Sankranti celebrations were subdued on Wednesday. Due to the restrictions on community gathering and temple visits, roads, markets and shrines wore a deserted look. No cultural programmes were held to either. Only social media platforms were abuzz as people gathered online to convey their greetings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the people of the state on Twitter and said, “”My heartfelt wishes to the people of Odisha on Odia New Year and Maha Bishuba Pana Sankranti. I pray that all your aspirations are fulfilled in the coming year. May everyone be blessed with health and happiness.”
