Courtesy-CPD FB page COLUMBUS, Ind. – Chief of the Columbus Police Department (CPD) Michael Richardson recently awarded two officers for their actions in assisting an older woman by presenting them with Letters of Commendation. Officers Chris Strickland and Adam Wisenbaugh were dispatched to a local apartment on January 28 to check on the welfare of an elderly woman. When they arrived, they discovered that she did not have food, water, or electricity. Since a hot meal site was not open, Strickland purchased food for the woman using his own money. Due to her age, Wisenbaugh thought the woman would be more comfortable staying at a local hotel rather than a homeless shelter, so he worked with a local charity to get her a temporary hotel room.
