Cradles to Crayons brings The Giving Factory to Newton residents Community Content While the current COVID-19 crisis prevents large groups from gathering at Newton-based Cradles to Crayons, families looking to volunteer this season can still do so from the comfort of their own homes. The organization is now bringing the warehouse experience to volunteers with its Giving Factory at Home program. As residents approach a full year of living with the pandemic in the U.S., there continues to be a growing number of families here in Massachusetts struggling to provide basic necessities for their children. Families who engage in Giving Factory at Home activities help Cradles to Crayons continue to reach those in need. From the safety of their homes, participants will take on tasks that replicate the volunteer stations as they would in-person — from sorting clothing by type or size to preparing and packing shoes, books, and hygiene supplies.
