A striking building of rippled glass walls will anchor the Confluence Village development next to the new Crew Stadium, according to plans unveiled by developers Wednesday. The Pizzuti Companies of Columbus and the Haslam Sports Group, the majority owner of the Crew, are planning the mixed-use development on 6.7 acres between the Olentangy River and the stadium just west of the Arena District. Anchoring the development is a five-story, 150,000-square-foot office building with some ground-floor retail space designed in a modernist style by Goettsch Partners in Chicago. "We intentionally looked to Europe and more contemporary architecture for the development," said Joel Pizzuti, president and chief operating officer of The Pizzuti Companies. "It's a refreshing change from what we've been seeing, even though there are a lot of great buildings in town."
