Cricket: No new positive cases in West Indies team, in talks with Australia

Cricket’s West Indian and Bangladeshi custodians exhaled when Australia’s ODI series in the Caribbean was cleared to conclude, after further investigations to clarify the level of risk created by a single positive COVID-19 case among the home side’s support staff.
Though there had not been a single positive case recorded among any of the further 152 COVID-19 tests conducted in the wake of the lone positive, which had dramatically curtailed the start of the second ODI on Thursday in Barbados, Cricket Australia had sought further information about how the case may have emerged.
While these uncertainties remained, it was possible that both the West Indies series and the subsequent tour of Bangladesh may have been called off due to isolation requirements for either positive cases or close contacts. The Australian side was never likely to leave any such cases behind before flying to Bangladesh.
