APPLETON - A crowd of people marched in downtown Appleton on Monday afternoon to demand two former police officers charged in the deaths of two men — George Floyd and Joel Acevedo — be found guilty. The rally and march began at about 4 p.m. in Houdini Plaza, then moved several blocks to the Appleton Police Department, where members of the crowd chanted the names of both men, along with other slogans: "Whose streets? Our streets," "All lives can't matter until Black Lives Matter," and "The police are violent, we will not be silenced." The demonstrators marched around the Outagamie County courthouse, then headed back downtown, where they gathered again before dispersing peacefully after about two hours. About 50 to 75 people participated.
