The initiative is more than a mere counter narrative tool. For over a year, mitch and i with the assistance of any supporters, with the counter extremism project and their researchers, have been working on a comprehensive program to combat the mounting threat posed by now far right wing extremism. I documented the nefarious legacy i once built as a jihadi as thendist and mitch director of intelligence at the nypd. Since then, we have learned a deal. After networking, designing programs, we launched the online ecosystem that we will discuss in more detail, in which ctrl alt delhate will be incorporated. The project came about as a result of much effort. Since the inception, we have been putting together a network of former extremists, victims of extremism, activists, victims and others who believe in the model. Thinking about ctrl alt delhate started a year ago during a week of flowrate activity that made it apparent we needed to get moving and fast. That included the tragic tree of life synagogue attacks, that occurred in the midst of the maga bomber scare, and another terrorist who tried to shoot two elderly africanamericans at a supermarket in kentucky. Of course, things have gotten a lot worse since then, but we started at that time to select a team of former and victims of right wing extremism to support our cadre of former extremists. At the core of our network was led the parallel networks for over two decades, myself, and others like brad galloway, also here today and people like hope, and africanamerican whose father was murdered by White Supremacists, and she actually is in contact with the individual who murdered him and provides sort of support and empathy. These have been our interventionists over the past year and at the same time, we have supported and informed one another. Ctrl alt delhate is a byproduct of these yearlong efforts. Its the beginning of our answer , particularly in the right wing space. I would like to talk about our unique approach to this problem. We see a communication hub and online portal that can host Grassroots Research and journalism and advanced podcasts, online videos and other media that can arm the public with information and confront polarization with coverage and commentary and offers a worldview that creates a collective nonpolarizing commentary. We have been advocating for a governmental focus that either focuses specifically on the intervention space, a focus that might reduce public criticism of government involvement within, and provide an alternative to sole reliance on investigation and interdiction. This might add a tool to the counterterrorism toolbox. Put together a proposal for next year that would ultimately lead to uniformity and internal recordkeeping, advance and online course that can train and empower key interventionists with information, instruction and skills in uniform standards and communication.
