Tragically, this weekend, we saw a devastating ambush attack against Law Enforcement officers in texas. A 45yearold officer and a 39yearold officer. While responding to a domestic disturbance call, the officers arrived on scene to protect the people they serve. They were met with gunfire and were ambushed by a violent and dangerous suspect who horrifically shot before they their weapon or had a chance to call for backup. Of ther the lives officers. This president will always stand on the side of Law Enforcement and the heroes who protect and serve. With that, i will take questions. As the number of f atalities continues to break records, the president said we are going to be in good shape in the next few weeks. What evidence is he using to draw that conclusion . You have congresswoman alexandria ocasiocortez saying defund the police means defund the police. She criticized the announcement of 1 million being taken down from nypd. There were 28 shootings in new york. 600 increase from this time last year. You have representative of casio cortez saying this is because people are trying to get food for their families. That is preposterous. 63 of americans in this country fear that criticism of our Police Departments will lead to no Public Safety in their streets. This is a real issue when you call our police cancer, when you talk about dismantling them, and in new york you see a oneyearold in a stroller not only that, you see officers garza and chavez.
