And here to help us with that throughout the morning is john. Good morning, pedro, viewers should know were going to be using the Associated Press numbers for calls and results. So viewers may hear about different numbers being reported but were always going to be coming back to the Associated Press numbers. So lets start off with where the president ial contest stands this morning. The key state of wisconsin there on your screen, a state thats being watched closely this morning, its 49. 4 for joe biden, President Trump, 49. 1 . That number has been flipping back and forth throughout the day. That is just one of six key states were watching this morning. The other one, michigan this morning in the wolverine state. The numbers in michigan, President Trump 49. 8 , joe iden, 48. 6 . And then the third state in the Northern Industrial midwest area , once known as the blue wall for democrats. That blue wall that President Donald Trump broke through, pennsylvania, the other key state, 55. 7 there. Joe biden at 43. 1 . 75 reporting. Several other states as wellbeing watched this morning, including in the south. North carolina, President Donald Trump at 50. 1 in the tar heel state. 100 reporting there, though no call yet in that race. Joe biden at 48. 7 in North Carolina. And next to the impeach pebble beach pebble beach state of georgia, very close to 100 reporting in georgia. Nevada ending its counting for the night about an hour ago, expected to pick it up at 9 00 a. M. Local time. So those are the key states were watching this morning in the president ial battlefield. Well update you throughout the morning, but also want to will the you know were watching the senate and house battlefield as well. Heres the state of the senate right now. Obviously, 51 needed for the majority. Theres 47 republicans right now. 45 democrats in those two independents who caucused with the democrats. Six races yet to be called. Democrats whose races have already been called or were not up for reelection this cycle, democrats picked up seats in colorado and arizona on the republican column, republicans picking up a seat in alabama. Senator doug jones losing to tommy tuberville. So that leaves us with the six races yet to be called and the best way to look at those is on the politico map. Politico using the same Associated Press data so it makes it easier to read this map. So this is a map from politico showing the senate races that are yet to be called. They include alaska, michigan, North Carolina, maine and then georgia. Theres the race in georgia. The regular election scheduled this year for senator david purdue and the special election as well taking place in georgia. As of right now, republicans ahead in all those races. If republicans do win that michigan seat, that would be a takeover for republican, gary peters battling to keep his seat in michigan. But all of those states that democrats thought they would be on offense this cycle and well see what happens in those six seats. For democrats they would have to win four seats to take over the senate if they didnt have the white house. If joe biden does win the white house, they would have to win three seats. Right now, theyre netting one seat. The colorado and arizona seats are the two races that theyve picked up and the alabama seat, a republican pick up. And finally to let you know, we havent forgotten about the house and plenty of action throughout the night in the house and the story of the house is that republicans doing a lot better than respected, headed into election day. Right now, 181 republican seats to 188 democratic seats. There are 66 races yet to be called and well take you through those races throughout the course of this morning as you stay with us here on cspan. He says i know everyone has been watch the president ial election as they should but House Republicans will end up with a net gain and if they do, that would defy most all expectations heading into election day. The citizens of this country have come out in record numbers. This is a record. Theres never been anything like it to support our incredible movement. We won states that we werent expecting to win. Florida. We didnt win it. We won it by a lot. [applause] President Trump we won the great state of ohio. We won texas. [applause] President Trump we won texas by 700,000 votes and they dont even include it in the tabulations. Its also clear that we have won georgia. [applause] President Trump were up by 2. 5 or 117,000 votes with only 7 left. Theyre never going to catch us. They cant catch us. Likewise, weve clearly won North Carolina. [applause] President Trump we were up 1. 4 or 77,000 votes with only approximately 5 left. They cant catch us. If you look and you see arizona, we have a lot of life in that and somebody said, somebody declared that it was a victory for us and maybe it will be. I mean, thats possible. But certainly, there were a lot of votes out there that we could get because were now just coming in what they call trump territory. But these were friend ply trump voters and that could be overturned. The gentleman that called it, i watched tonight he said well, we think its fairly unlikely that he could catch. Well fairly unlikely . [laughter] and we dont even need it we dont need that. That was just a state that we would have gotten and it would have been nice. Arizona. But theres a possibility, maybe, even a good possibility. In fact, since i saw that originally, its been changed and the numbers have substantially come down just in a small amount of votes. So, we want that obviously to stay in play. But most importantly, were winning pennsylvania by a tremendous amount. [applause] President Trump were up 600. Think of this. Think of this. Think of this. Were up 690,000 votes in pennsylvania. [applause] President Trump these arent even close. Its not like oh, its close. Its 4 of the vote in, going to be almost impossible to catch. And were coming into good pennsylvania areas where they happen to like your president. [applause] President Trump so well probably expand that. Were winning michigan. I looked at the numbers and i said whoa. I looked and i said wow, thats a lot by almost 300,000 votes. [applause] President Trump and 65 of the vote is in. And were winning wisconsin. So we dont need all of them. We need because when you add texas in, which wasnt added, i spoke with the really wonderful governor of texas just a little while ago, greg abbott, he said congratulations he called me to congratulate me on winning texas. We won texas. I dont think they finished quite the tabulation but theres no way. And was almost complete but he congratulated me and then he said by the way, whats going on . Ive never seen anything like this. Can i tell you what . Nobody has. So we won by 107,000 votes with 81 of the vote. Thats michigan. So when you take those three states in particular, and you take all of the others, i mean, we have so many we had such a big night. You just take a look at all of these state that is weve won tonight and then you take the look at the kind of margins that we won them by and all of a sudden, its not like were up 12 votes and we have 60 left. We won states and all of a sudden, i said what happened to the election . Its off. And we have all these announcers saying what happened . And then they said ooh, because you know what happened . They knew they couldnt win. So they said lets go to court. And did i predict this . Decided i say this . Ive been saying this from the day i heard they were going to nd out tens of millions i said exactly because either they were going to win or if they didnt win, theyll take us to court. So, florida was a tremendous victory. 377,000 texas as we said. Ohio. Think of this. Ohio, a tremendous state, a big state. I love ohio. ,000. N by 8. 1 , 461 almost 500,000 votes. North carolina. Big victory with North Carolina. So we won there. We lead by 76,000 votes with almost nothing left. And all of a sudden, everything just stopped. This is a fraud on the american public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election. [applause] President Trump so our goal now is to ensure the integrity for the good of this nation. This is a very big moment. This is a major fraud on our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. So well be going to the u. S. Supreme court. We want all voting to stop. We dont want them to find any ballots at 4 00 in the morning and add them to the list. Ok . [applause] President Trump its a very sad moment. To me, this is a very sad moment. And we will win this and as far as im concerned, we already have won it. Host a speech made just after 3 00 this morning in the east room in the white house. About 150 supporters joining the president to hear those comments. As you can imagine, those comments garnering a reaction from many fronts and theory give us a sense after it, here is john. Many fronts including first and foremost from the Biden Campaign. Here is a Statement Released from the Biden Campaign manager jen omalley. The president s statement about trying to shut down the counting ballots was outrageous, unprecedented and incorrect. It was outrageous because it is a naked effort to take away the democratic rights of american that is what our laws, the laws that protect very americans constitutional vote require. To try to prevent the proper tabulation of votes we have teams ready to deploy to resist that effort and they will prevail. That from the bipe campaign. Also very early this morning. And a series of tweets from democrats reacting to President Trumps statement including the governor of pennsylvania. Tom wolfe saying lets be clear. This is a partisan attack on pennsylvanias elections. Our voters and democracy, our counties are working tirelessly to process vote as quickly and as accurately as possible. Pennsylvania will have a Fair Election and we will count every vote. That from the governor of pennsylvania. This from congressman Brendan Boyle from the philadelphia area saying this is an important moment in our democracy. We must be clear. Donald trump is lying. All the votes must be counted. A few other notable democratic tweets and also a tweet from the lone independent in congress as well from the state of michigan. And a outspoken critic of President Trump tweeting about the president s address. That was one of the most onest and dispotomac despotic speeches ever given by a president of the United States. The irony of worrying about people turning america into somalia while allowing trump to do what somali dictators used to do. Wake up. He is destroying everything that sets us apart. We send election observers into other countries. We shouldnt need ours monitored. And then this, from congressman adam schiff of california. One of the impeachment managers during the impeachment of President Trump said once again, the president is lying to the American People and acting like a would be des pit. We will count every vote and gnore the noise. Every vote will be counted. In arizona, and in pennsylvania and in all the remaining states. No stunts or lies or cheap political theater are going to change that. We will hear from joe biden in just a few minutes. A few of your calls from newport, North Carolina. So i want to check in on those races that still havent been called when it comes to the senate and control of the senate is at stake. 100 reporting but the a. P. Has not called that race yet for thom tillis, holding a decent lead there though with 100 reporting. And then to maine where senator Susan Collins is trying to hold onto her seat and seems to be on er way to doing that at 50. 9 . 87 president reporting. So still a little ways to go in 87 reporting. Late onto the board this cycle for Senate Democrats was alaska. An independent running in that state, dr. Al gross against republican senator dan sullivan. Al gross running to knock off the republican there, but at 31. 8 b. P. To Dan Sullivans 63. 1 . Half the vote reported right now out of alaska. And then we head to georgia, david purdue there, running for reelection, 50. 8 right now to john ossoff, the democrat, 49. 9 . Democrats hopeful about taking over david purr dues seat. David perdues seat. Also in the peach state this cycle is that special election taking place in georgia. Leading a pastor there, the field with the field of six candidates originally, hes at 1. 9 , candidate war knack. Warnock. Doug collins has conceded that race. Its likely that his republican support will mostly consolidate behind senator Electoral College loeffler. So well see what happens when warnock and loeffler goes to that january 5 runoff. And one more race to let you know about and thats the michigan race. This would be a republican pickup opportunity. Republicans had said throughout the cycle they think they can put senator gary peters state in play and the democrat down right now 48. 4 to john james, the republican, an africanamerican businessman in that state at 49. 7 . Were at 83 reporting in michigan. And of course michigan, were watching as well as a key Battle Ground in the president ial race. Host this is judith noel saying she lives in pennsylvania, concerned about the votes that are mailed after yesterday that they will be counted in the final tally. Clark in connecticut adding that biden is not a leader for better or for worse. Trump is the leader. We have to open up and go forward. And this is also from a texter from illinois. Listen to the president speak overnight and just couldnt believe what he said. Thats where joe has an advantage. Joe isnt a liar. Mark stone. There is a legitimate concern about back door voter adding that we know for a fact that cities like philadelphia have a problematic history. Were going to win pennsylvania. [applause] candidate biden been talking to votes in philly, allegheny county, scranton and theyre encouraged by the turnout about what they see. Look, we can know the results as earl as tomorrow morning, but it may take a little longer as ive said all along. Its not my place or Donald Trumps place to declare whos won this election. Thats a decision of the American People. But im optimistic about this outcome. I want to thank every one of you, came out and voted in this election and by the way, chris koons and the democrats, congratulations here in delaware. Thank you. Host the New York Times has a look at some of the legal challenges that are being looked at during the course of this election. They highlight the fact that the Trump Campaign press complaints that the workers and philadelphia were not given their observers enough access to ballot counting areas just outside the city to stop officials from giving voters an additional opportunity to vote after their mailin ballots were rejected and in momentarily county, republicans filed a complaint arguing against the country countys efforts to contact voter whose mail ballots were rejected calling them revote. Theres a lot of back and forth going on in the light of yesterday. The results are being seen and as were keeping track of not only the president ial race but also whats going on in the senate as well. And updating us and will continue to update us is jon. A lot of back and forth too in those key battleground states as well. The headline from the Associated Press right now on where the presidency stands is that it hinges on tight grounds and its a familiar battleground. Its those Northern Industrial states. And michigan right now, its nearly tied, 49. 4 for President Trump. Joe biden has been gaining there as votes continue to be counted. 49. 1 . Theres 83 reporting and then to the badger state of wisconsin this morning, joe biden 49. 6 to President Trumps 48. 9 . And also dont want to forget about the keystone state of pennsylvania. President trump up 55. 7 to joe bidens 43. 1 . Note there that there is 75 reporting in the keystone state of pennsylvania and some analysis of whats left to be counted. This from the election watcher there this morning and an often tweeter throughout the night about results. Hes writing if pennsylvania, secretary of state paige is accurate, then there are enough absentee ballot for biden to win in pennsylvania. And n. C. State silver saying there are very few remaining sources of hope for President Trump in wisconsin. The math getting very tight here with these battleground states and well continue to update you on where they stand as the Associated Press results continue to come in this morning. I dont know if anyone remembers him calling to fox ritaedly trashing, creating to the birther theory about palm beach during those times. So we were supposed to support our president as people imagine that we were supposed to now and the moment i watched donald a disabled evision, reporter told me everything i know about the man and tpwhoin had any dignity at all could still support him. Host so if joe biden becomes president because i wanted to get bang to your support for a moment, what would you like to see from him considering youre a Bernie Sanders supporter . Caller just to see donald trump leave the white house. Its really that simple. Im not expecting that much from joe biden, really. I just its just a vote against donald trump. Last night we saw a statewide amendment passed that raise the minimum wage, but at the same time the Democratic Party has been pushing too much in favor of more moderate, centrist policies that i dont think are appealing enough to people here in florida. I think that that is a source of deep regret, and not appealing enough to, you know, latino voters there who are turned off by the dog whistle of using the word socialism. The democrats have to counter that narrative somehow. If they allow themselves to get portrayed as socialist without answering with some sort of real message, we are not going to win florida again. It just was disappointing last night. I dont think there is a message here in florida. Someone said somebody declared that it was a victory and maybe it will be, thats possible but certainly there were a lot of votes out there that we could get. We are now just coming into what we call trump territory, i dont know what you call it, but these were friendly trump voters and that could be overturned. The gentleman that called it, we think it is fairly unlikely he could catch. Fairly unlikely . We dont need that. That was just a state that if we would have gotten it would have been nice, arizona. There is a possibility, maybe even a good possibility, in fact since i saw that it has been changed and the numbers have substantially come down in a small amount of votes. We want that obviously to stay in play. Most importantly, we are winning pennsylvania by a tremendous amount. [applause] we are up 600 think of this, think of this, think of this we are up 690,000 votes in pennsylvania. These arent even close. This isnt like, oh, it is close. He called me to congratulate me on winning texas. We won texas. I dont think they have finished quite the tabulation, but there is no way. He congratulated me. He said what is going on, ive never seen anything like this. Can i tell you what . Nobody has. We won with 81 of the vote, its michigan. When you take those three states in particular and all of the others i mean, we have so many. We had such a big night. You look at all of the states that we won tonight, and you look at the kind of margins we it is not likey, we are up 12 votes and we have 60 left. We won states. All of a sudden i said, what happened to the election . Its off. We have all these announcers saying, what happened . They said, do you know what happened . They knew they couldnt win, so they said lets go to court. Did i predict this . I have been saying this since the day i heard they were going to send out tens of millions of ballots. Either they were going to win, or if they didnt they would take us to court. Florida was a tremendous victory. 377,000. Texas, as we said. Ohio. Tremendous state, a big state. We won by 8. 1 . Almost 500,000 votes. North carolina, a big victory with North Carolina. So, we won there. We lead by 76,000 votes with almost nothing left. All of a sudden, everything stopped. Usings the politico map the Associated Press data, the same data weve been showing you this morning of the outstanding races in the senate. Alaska, georgia, North Carolina, maine, michigan. Georgia special is going to go to a january runoff, a unique situation. Four of those five seats were hadplaces that democrats targeted this cycle, to maybe have a takeover opportunity. As of now, democrats have only taken over the colorado seat of cory gardner and the arizona seat of martha mcscally. Publicans have taken over the democratic doug jones in alabama, that has now turned red. Democrats needed a net four seats to take over the senate or three with the presidency. Those outstanding races, certainly something we have been watching. Perhaps a better sense of how poorly this night went for democrats when it came to congressional races might be to look at some of the other targets that Democratic Senators thought they had on the map this cycle. Iowa was one of those states that we spent a lot of time talking about over the past several months. Senatorr the republican. Called last night. Montana was one of those key states that democrats were targeting when they got governor Steve Bullock to join the senate race this cycle. A saw it as a key opportunity to put montana in play and senator daines, the republican, winning 54. 6 in the race. There are still votes to be counted. Texas was a place the democrats were hoping to target and perhaps put on the map along with putting texas in play in the president ial race. Senator john cornyn winning handedly in texas, 53. 7 for the republican. Hegar with 43. 7 . And then there was South Carolina, senator Lindsey Graham, so much attention on him in that race this cycle. He won handily, 55. 8 . A democrat who raised well over 100 million for his bid, getting a lot of attention especially late in the cycle, Jamie Harrison only getting 42. 9 in that district. Hissey graham, staying in saying in his comments after declaring victory in taking his supporters, noting that democrats were wasting money in South Carolina. All that money that was raised for democrats. On how bad this night was for Congressional Democrats when it came to what they thought they were going to get a where they are, this is very longtime political reporter on capitol hill who has covered many races, many cycles. John with a series of tweets last night, here is three of them. Was inublican majority deep trouble but now they may have only lost one or two seats net, saving the majority. He went on to tweak pundits took it on the chin last night, a huge blow to the medias credibility. There has to be changes in how these races are covered.
