So we will see a continued evolution i dont know if we will see a revolution in the way in which a video is delivered but we will continue to see movements as we Pay Attention to our College Student customers and the way they consume highspeed data within on campus product that includes a streaming feature with video content and through that subscription a basic package of video content with their laptop horror smart phone with that evolution that customers want to receive their video and then to deliver on that customer demand. So Companies Like comcast which your business requires you to buy other companies or partner with those. So with this administration with its views of competition and antitrust . They said they wanted to breaking what they were still here in one piece so what is your take . First of all, i am compelled to say from the Goldman Sachs conference last week, of the post to Nbc Universal and we view ourselves to be strategically complete were not out there to say oh my god we have to do something to buy. But we have never viewed ourselves to be foreclosed from the Acquisition Market place. It has to be the right deal that can be enhanced with the quality of the company with a return to new shareholders with shareholder value as a result. There is no secret over all this president and administration was likely less hot style to horizontal or vertical growth but he doesnt have the confirmed attorney general. There is likely to be less hostility in other industries so with that freemarket philosophy that will present itself in this administration and to be lost less hostility with a greater news to allow and though the companies to get bigger. So this will give you pause with at t and its merger to say repeatedly he wants to block that deal. But does it give you pause to see those transactions . The way i talk about this is the overarching philosophy of competition policy and antitrust enforcement is likely to lean toward the free market approach to be more hospitable to mergers and acquisitions. On the other hand there is a populist streak multiple times on the campaign trail and the populism and populist approach with policy with the administration. In terms if the tweets give me pause, i could be wrong and we have yet to see the way this plays out a think what the president is doing on twitter is conversation conversation, not policy but it is a view into the way he is thinking but there are plenty of things he has treated one month later he tweets Something Else in a different context 160 degrees from where he was originally. So maybe i am a view of or i am wrong but i am less concerned than a lot of my friends about the president s tweets. I think it is a release valve for him and in that sense it is not unhealthy and since the chief of staff there has been a reduction of the tweets. There is still a lot, but they are more controlled and substantive and a less head scratching they and some of those before the kelly world so of that competition front with the sec be will start with at t with comcast and time warner deal had you talked to the Justice Department . We dont comment on other peoples deals but it is a rock solid position before i was that the company in since then i tried to religiously observed that but i will say that the proposed acquisition with time warner is the ultimate compliment to Brian Roberts and his vision because it is a contest of the acquisition Nbc Universal. At the time we announced the deal there was a fair amount of criticism because it occurred when content was moving in the different direction and some people questioned prions vision that he had a very strong instinct with the content and distribution together to maximize consumer and shareholder value after six years of performance i think his vision has been a proven to be correct and that acquisition of time warner is a perfect example somebody else to say put that content together is a way to maximize customer and shareholder value for cry dont like talking about other peoples deal said like when other people talk about our deal so i want to preserve my ability so i will control myself and not talk about our views or anything that has occurred in the context. But i do have to ask about sinclair tribune what does that mean for comcast . Again i dont comment on other peoples deals i will not comment on that but obviously there are implications with the broadcast ecosystem with those potential good things for the company on the Nbc Universal side and potentially troubling issues so to have if that large of a block of affiliates inevitably put significantly upward pressure which is the number one driver of increase of cable prices and you have seen the studies which identify and highlight the potential in thai consumer implications of that transaction with the perspective of driving up the consent fees. Host we have to bring up that neutrality or were not the communicators. Moving through the fcc and congress would irritate on the new fcc with the new contingent with chairman pai . He has put out notice of proposed rulemaking to move to classify broadband under title one to repeal the dangerous reclassification that those effects were exceptionally accentuated. There was only one of the fcc shares under obama the other declined to reclassify broad band under title to recognizing the potential adverse implications for investment incentives and the lack of a necessity but doing that because there are other ways to be able to put in place that neutrality regulations. That is the direction chairman pai is heading that title to is dangerous as negative implications for investment but to squarely bring up the question what should the Net Neutrality rules me and so when i read in the press that chairman pai is attempting to repeal that neutrality that is not what they say i cannot read his mind but i dont think that is what he intends to do. That is not what comcast is looking for. We are looking for the reclassification of broadband under title one to encourage privatesector investment also looking at our supporters for strong and enduring the neutrality rules no discrimination full transparency that basic gamut that started when michael paul was chairman and enable the internet to provide for a couple of decades that is the direction chairman pai and the majority republicans are having to have to wait for the vote to do that but i think there is enough controversy around sources of authority i am hoping everyone will come to the conclusion that the right answer is bipartisan congressional legislation to put in place once and for all in during that neutrality rules i used day couple of analogies i call this regulatory a pingpong going back and forth from the fcc into the courts that makes a decision the Court Overturns the decision the party brings it back is not a matter of Constitutional Authority and that is what the congressmen are elected for to pass the laws of this is the time to end the regulatory pingpong says now were in the movie business i made reference to groundhog day which as you mentioned as the communicators that does feel like groundhog day every time i am on the show we have to have a discussion on that neutrality and every transaction we are involved that neutrality is part of the discussion that is the ultimate definition of groundhog day matter how much progress you have made or moving the ball down the field here we are. So hopefully the fcc will act to encourage congress to say it is time to end this than there is enough of a consensus out there around what the Net Neutrality rules show book like we will put them in place and put everyone out of their misery may be for the next 30 years for a couple of key elements he said there is consensus but there is particularly when it comes to pay fighters asian. I was careful to choose my words the issue had been participating in the groundhog day discussions with the issues they did not mention are paid prioritization. I have to believe there is a compromise Barack Obamas chairman of the sec had a compromise to his Net Neutrality rule to prohibit paid prior to her position putting a presumption in the rule against that legality but allow that to occur with day case by case review with the fcc the world did not go crazy to say there is a massive ripple but times change so when i think needs to happen and can only happen in one place there will be comments about pay prior to is asian that npr asks people to say what they think about the neutrality rules should be. We have given our perspective on the compromises around paid prior jersey show that the real place that discussion should take place is between republicans and democrats of the United States congress as the work to have legislation in this space to come up with a construct to satisfy all of the stakeholders there are multiple compromises if were down just to that issue i cannot believe we cannot get the overall agreement. So to take old language putting that into a piece of legislation with comcast support that . I cannot speak for the will industry that we would. They have devolve to such a great extent that the need to improve the Customer Experience and then the commercial space that is doing Remote Health care via highdefinition so take the mayo clinic that has robotic surgery but is delaying technicians at the mayo clinic on indian reservations. It might be worth it for them with the service to have that enhanced capacity to make sure they get that prioritized service but that is not competitive or to take away from the Internet Access services anybody elses delivering, it should not be, it is not the fear from paid privatization for articulating. I think there is something to be done and we can reach a compromise on that point. Host final question you have 30 questions what about a Wireless Phone company . We think we are strategically complete what about wireless . We launched our Wireless Service with verizon and were very excited with the results and consumer reaction to the digital experience more than half have signed up now offering the service in all comcasts stores sell the are optimistic and excited of the reaction of our customers to purchase Wireless Service from comcast.
