Ms Symonds threw her weight behind the campaign to end the use of ‘monkey slaves' in coconut farming after the issue was brought to light by The Telegraph. All of the UK’s major supermarkets vowed not to use, or to stop using, coconuts procured from Thai farms which supplied some of our biggest supermarkets, after primates were abused and kept in pitiful conditions.
