Cumbria Pride react to the Government's Gender Recognition Certificate cost reduction


Earlier this week, the Government announced that they reduced the fee to apply for a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) from £140 to £5.
EARLIER this week the Government announced that they reduced the fee to apply for a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC).
The fee for applying was reduced from £140 to £5 on Tuesday May 4, and the process was also moved online.
The move was made in response to the consultation on the Gender Recognition Act.
Cumbria Pride Chair, Jane-Ann Clark, said: “It’s not something you do on a whim, people aren’t changing gender they want their true gender to be recognised.
