Why is Curtis Jackson's stage name 50 Cent? 
Jackson took inspiration for his stage name from Brooklyn robber Kelvin Martin who was better known as 50 Cent.
Reportedly, he was given this nickname because he was willing to rob anyone, no matter how little they had in their pockets.
Explaining his choice of a stage name, Jackson previously said: “I’m the same kind of person 50 Cent was. I provide for myself by any means.”
Another reason for the rapper choosing this particular name is to uphold the robber's legacy.
