Dad-of-two Dave Hughes rushed into a burning bungalow in a heroic bid to rescue its trapped occupant – after spotting the fire on his way to work.
The 45-year-old railway worker used water butts he was carrying in his van to extinguish part of the blaze at the property in Langland Drive, Blurton, at around 10.20pm on Friday (April 30).
