MAIN door properties in the city’s South Side are to move to a three-weekly green bin collection next month, the Glasgow Times can reveal. Those who present their bins for a kerbside collection will see the change come into force on from April 5. The controversial scheme was rolled out to the North West of Glasgow last week, having been launched as a pilot project in the North East last October. Glasgow City Council insists moving the rollout is aimed at increasing recycling rates, which are currently trailing behind other UK towns. However, critics have blasted the move as being driven by budget cuts and called for it be halted.
