Prosecutors asked Holder to look at the shirt the child was wearing at the time of his death. He recounted the last moments of the child's life. "And as he struggled to breathe, I did what I thought was best to keep him breathing and alert, as EMS responded," testified Holder. Smith, his mother and two others all would die on that Mattapan street. But Marcus Hurd would survive a direct shot to the back of the head. Set to testify later this month, Hurd is now paralyzed from the shoulders down.
