After 47 years working in FWCS â the last 17 as superintendent â Wendy Robinson retired. In her stead, Mark Daniel was hired to become the districtâs new leader, assuming the job officially July 1. Daniel, a Fort Wayne native, graduated from North Side High School in 1979. Since joining the district, Daniel has laid out an aggressive agenda, only put on hold recently when he found out he tested positive for COVID-19. After testing positive Nov. 18, Daniel self-quarantined and began working from home. He said since his diagnosis, heâs beginning to feel much better, though at first, he suffered fever, cough, headache and loss of smell and taste, adding that his sense of taste hasnât fully returned yet.
