A PLAQUE and defibrillator have been installed at Northallerton Auction Mart in memory of market chairman Alan Watson, who died suddenly in January. Donations totalling almost £1,500 came in from many people connected with the mart to buy the potentially life-saving defibrillator after a fundraiser was launched following Mr Watson’s death. The 66-year-old, who farmed at Snilesworth, near Osmotherley, was also a director of Northallerton Auction Mart. He was described as a “remarkable man” and “well-respected farmer” in the many tributes paid after his death on January 27.
