Delamere, run by North West Academies Trust (NWAT), is working towards becoming a plastic-free accredited school. The Surfers Against Sewage scheme encourages schools to ban all single-use plastics, and educate children about the harmful effects that discarded plastic can have on the environment. As part of their journey to becoming plastic free, pupils are actively involved in projects to tidy up the local environment and Mr Timpson dropped in to help year four children pick up litter at nearby Delamere Forest. Teacher Lucy Bate said: "Every year group is taking part in some way. "We have written letters to some of the companies most guilty for creating plastic pollution, and another of our goals in Nunsmere was to undertake a litter pick.
