A thorn in the Demons’ side no more. Dropping the last eight meetings against Oskaloosa dating back to 2014, the Washington boys’ basketball team bucked that trend last night by getting over the hump with a convincing 50-30 victory at home. As heard on KCII, the Demons jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two minutes on the strength of suffocating defense that did not allow the Indians any clean looks. The advantage was 25-14 in favor of Washington at the break and the lead slowly continued to grow in the second half. Washington was short handed in this one, but got a great contribution off the bench from Lance Sobaski. The junior did a little bit of everything for the Demons and tallied a game-high 13 points. Kasen Bailey was also in double figures with 10 points while Ethan Patterson and Trashaun Willis added nine.
