Deputies to get 7 percent wage hikes in new pact Deputy sheriffs working for Monroe County will receive 7 percent hikes in their base wages over the next four years under a tentative labor agreement reached between the county and the labor union. County commissioners okayed 9-0 Tuesday the new collective bargaining accord with the Deputy Sheriffs Association that was recommended by a negotiating team. The four-year agreement replaces the former contract that would have expired June 30, 2023. The new expiration date is Dec. 31, 2024. The pact affects 66 deputy sheriffs in the association, said Aundrea Armstrong, human resources director for the county and a member of the bargaining team. Negotiating on behalf of the deputies were Sheriff Troy Goodnough and the Police Officers Association of Michigan
