Derek Chauvin trial: State rests its case, defense calls first witnesses

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The state rested its case Tuesday in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in the death of George Floyd, and the defense called its first witnesses. Trial Judge Peter Cahill laid out what he expects to be the schedule for the rest of the trial on Monday, telling jurors they might get Friday off before closing arguments on Monday, April 19. After that, the jury will be sequestered until they reach a verdict.
