had a record, 31 degrees this morning. still cold in a lot of spots. not as cold as this. i grew up in buffalo, 23 there. 47 jacksonville, 45 tallahassee. that's a lot different between what you see to the north and what you see to the south. there's also snow in parts of buffalo, especially the south towns. you'll see these streamers as we call them. here's buffalo. that's where i grew up. all the streamers coming across the lake this way. buffalo gets the snow when the wind comes in from this direction, not from the northwest like it is now. the air is colder when it comes in from the northwest. so we see snowflakes in detroit and also up north into cleveland as well. although i don't have one reporting station officially saying snow is coming to the ground, there are white areas, white patches here across the deep south that do show at least some snow on the radar. a lot of that, don, does evaporate on the way down. we call is subliming if the snow doesn't make it all the way down. when rain doesn't make it all the way down, we call it verga.
