just -- i just glanced at madeleine's bed which was by the wall. it was really dark and i couldn't quite make her out. i just kept looking for what felt like minutes thinking, you know, where is she, you know. it seems daft now. normally you'd think i'd put the light on. it's that in built thing of don't wake the kids up. i looked and realized she wasn't there. i thought, she'd gone through to our bedroom. that would explain why the door was open as well. i just quickly looked in our room. she wasn't there. and that's probably the first time that panic starts to build. so i'm back into her room. just as i did that, it was the curtains which were closed just kind of blew open. and i noticed that the shutter was open. the window was open. >> what did you think in that moment? >> i thought someone's taken her. >> you went down to tell gerry straight away? >> yeah. i basically quickly whisked
