to start sending end sent yaer balloons over to israel. the balloons never really went away, they've been happening for the past 15 years or so and have burned 10,000 acres of farmland and nature reserves in the area around the gaza strip. this time what was different was that israel responded with air strikes which it hasn't done in the past in response to these balloons. it's not a huge surprise given that the idf said that after the ceasefire was agreed upon last month that any rocket fire or any end send yaer balloons or attacks from the gaza strip would be met in their words with a powerful response. we've seen that on tuesday night. worth noting that the balloons that came into israel yesterday on wednesday have not been met with air strikes although there are multiple media reports saying that israel is getting the message to hamas via the egyptians that if they continue israel will escalate its strips strikes on the gaza strip and perhaps start taking out hamas
