>> amendment 64 was passed on a statewide basis and never intended as a local referendum. voters in colorado springs were in favor of the measure by roughly 5,000 votes. nonetheless, the city council has chosen to opt out of recreational sales. >> colorado springs is basically a large military installation town. very conservative town, a lot of our economy is built on military. so their fear is the military bases are going to get up and go away from colorado springs. we're currently in the process of basically trying to either put the ballot measure on the ballot ourselves or hoping they're going to say this is going to be good for our city and we are going to legalize this and tax it. when i entered the cannabis industry in colorado springs, when we started looking at warehouse space, there was warehouse space everywhere. any and everywhere you looked, there was vacant buildings, there was nobody in here. now you can barely find a warehouse that's actually available at this point.
