a social media expert according to his lawyer. that expert was hired during the 2016 presidential election to work for long-time trump confidant roger stone. so we're back to roger stone now. ken dilanian, nbc news, is with us now. what can you tell us about this, ken? >> chris, nbc news has confirmed from a lawyer for this man jason sullivan that special counsel mueller has issued two subpoenas, one of which compels him, according to reuters, to appear before the grand jury this month. and we don't know a lot about his role in the campaign, but he's a social media expert and what this suggests is that robert mueller is honing in on the question of roger stone and whether he had advance knowledge that the russians had hacked democratic e-mails. stone has colorfully and heatedly denied this over many months on the record, on our air and elsewhere. but this really does seem to be a focus of the mueller investigation at this time and goes to the whole question obviously of whether the trump campaign had any advance knowledge that the russians were
