Lawyers for the company behind a $2.1 billion transformation of Brisbane’s Eagle Street Pier have hit back at a court appeal of its approval, citing a lack of foundation and detail to the claims.
Waterfront Brisbane was given Brisbane City Council approval under a range of conditions in December, after a six-month development process that ended in a joint press conference from developers Dexus and the council.
Under the proposed redevelopment, the 30-year-old Eagle Street Pier buildings would be demolished and replaced with two 49- and 43-floor office towers on prime riverside land.
