But his spectacular goaltending performance became even more impressive afterward when he revealed he had played the tournament with a fractured rib. The Dollard-des-Ormeaux native suffered the injury in the opening match against Germany on Boxing Day, but he never missed a game and persevered to help Canada garner a silver medal after a 2-0 loss to the United States in the gold-medal game.
