DIGHTON — This fall, over $118,000 worth of road upgrades will make the town far more accessible to townspeople with disabilities. The town's Commission on Disability chair Jonathan Gale uses himself as an example of what these improvements mean to the community. He uses a white cane to move around because he is blind. "Because of the curb cuts, there will be sidewalk surfaces that tell me where the street is," he said. "Without them, I've had no way to know where to cross. With these changes, people —seniors, parents with a baby carriage — will no longer be worried about losing their balance on a walkway trying to cross it."
