Citizen Penn this May. The film (pictured) chronicles the moment actor Sean Penn and a team of volunteers landed in Haiti just days after the devastating 7.0 earthquake struck the country in 2010, and the 10 years since. Penn later went on to create an organization called J/P HRO (now Core), which has expanded its efforts across the U.S. for the past few years, most recently organizing free COVID-19 testing sites. Originally set to premiere at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival, the film won the audience choice award at the Heartland Film Festival and played AFI Fest, Raindance and the Vancouver International Film Festival.
